Porsche is the enthusiast pick. The 911 GT3 RS and 911 Turbo in our Miami fleet attract clients who already know what they want and could have gone Ferrari or Lamborghini instead. They didn't, on purpose. The 911 silhouette has barely moved in sixty years for the same reason the Air Jordan 1 still sells: it was right the first time. These cars also rent for less per day than the Italians, which doesn't hurt.

A GT3 RS is the closest thing to a race car you can register on a Florida tag. 4.0 flat-six naturally aspirated, 9,000 rpm redline, manually adjustable aero front and rear, and a PDK gearbox that shifts faster than human reflexes. The 911 Turbo is the all-weather counterpart: twin-turbo, all-wheel drive, 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, and quiet enough to take to dinner. Both are usable in city traffic, which is unusual for cars this fast.

The 911 cabin has been refined more than redesigned. Five round gauges in front of the wheel, center console rake at exactly the right angle for the right hand to rest there, manual seat adjustments on the GT3 because servos add weight. The infotainment screen finally caught up to Mercedes and BMW in 2021. Rear seats exist on paper. In practice they're for jackets and short bags.

Front trunk where the engine should be, engine over the rear axle, sloping roofline that goes back to the 911's VW Beetle ancestry. The GT3 RS adds a wing the size of a coffee table, side intakes carved into the rear quarters, and ducktail rear. The Turbo keeps it cleaner. Our fleet runs the GT3 RS in Shark Blue and the Turbo in Carrera White and GT Silver, all standard Porsche specs that hold value and photograph well.

Porsches are easier to book than the supercars but the GT3 RS is the exception, because we run one car and the wait list runs long during peak weekends. The 911 Turbo is more available.
